CNEHJ staff on the Extreme Heat grant, which funded by the Governor’ Office of Land Use and Climate Integration under the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resilience Program, attended the statewide LISTOS program to discuss disaster readiness in the state. In attendance were dozens of grassroots organizational members.

Market Match is a statewide program that provides CalFresh recipients with matching funds for fresh fruits and vegetables when they use their CalFresh dollars at participating farmers markets and farmstands.

Recipients spend their CalFresh and Market Match funds directly with California farmers which not only encourages healthy eating habits but also keeps the funds in California and supports small- to mid-sized California family farms.

We will discuss how climate change impacts children’s health through sessions on water, heat and farmworker safety, sustainable healthcare, disaster preparedness, and air quality. The day will include a mix of presentations, discussion, and opportunities to connect with experts working in environmental health. Participants can earn 5 FREE nursing continuing education credits while learning alongside nurses, health professionals, and advocates.

Participants will receive training on policy and have the opportunity to join meetings at the Capitol. Lobby Day is designed to strengthen collective advocacy efforts, elevate the voice of nurses in environmental health, and build connections. Whether you are new to advocacy or have prior experience, this event offers a supportive space to learn and engage. Participants will also earn 2 FREE CE credits!!
